Description

Zinc and glass lid for canning jar. The gray lid has female threads to fit onto the male threads of a mason jar. On the top of the lid is embossed (very faint) in the Ball company logo: "Ball". The inside of the lid has a white milk glass lining with the following embossed in capital letters: "genuine porcelain lined cap Boyd's" and "4". The zinc is heavily corroded particularly on the inside, with accretions/powdery white spots. There are faint red colors on the sealing edge, possibly from contact with a rubber sealing gasket.
