Description

Metal balance scale for weighing and classifying eggs. The scale consists of a flat metal platform with the edges bent to form legs, on which is bolted a balancing assembly. The assembly has a pivot rod with a ring on one end in which an egg can be placed, and a weight at the other end. There is a smaller weight above the pivot point that can be shifted from one side to the other. The pivot rod is supported by a metal framework. An oval shaped metal piece is riveted to the platform with the following printed thereon: "Reliable Mfg. Division of James Mfg. Co. Los Angeles Calif. USA Reliable Egg Scale See weight Chart". On a shaft that is part of the balancing assembly, is cast on one side "Reliable Mfg Co" and on the other side "Los Angeles Calif". The balancing assembly is slightly pulling away from the platform at one end. One end of the platform is bent unevenly. Used by the Yates Egg Farm.
