Description

Olympic Cascade Sign, 1973. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show several signs (all mounted on a single frame) advertising Olympic Cascade Mercantile Company, as well as product lines available at that store. The frame which the signs are attached to stands in an area covered with gravel alongside a road. Image 4 shows a kitchen sink mounted in the top of a cabinet with two doors. The left upper arm and side of a person is visible at the right-hand side of the image. This image was presumably captured within the Olympic Cascade Mercantile Company store. Image 5 shows the frame with signs mounted on it. There are three separate signs. The sign on the top advertises Lennox air conditioning and heating. The middle sign advertises Olympic Cascade Mercantile Company on its right-hand side. On its left-hand side, the side advertises Westinghouse. The bottom sign advertises Kohler bathroom fixtures. Images 6 through 8 are nearly identical to image 5.
