People, Some Unidentified, 1976. These eleven black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, the strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a Lacey fireman, a man reading, a woman buying candy from two Girl Scouts, a Lacey City Council meeting, and two people working with documents and electronic workstations while a man watches and/or supervises. These latter people may be engaged in putting documents on microfilm or microfiche.
The images in group "b" show a sign which reads "BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITY," and a small grocery or convenience store next to a house.
The images in group "c" show what appears to be a table centerpiece, a woman appearing to offer event tickets to a man, a man appearing to pose for a picture, and a man reading a book.
The images of Dorothy Gregory buying candy from Girl Scouts were created for inclusion with an article concerning a Girl Scout candy sale. ("CANDY PURCHASE," Lacey Leader, 1/28/1976)
The images of the city council meeting were created for inclusion with an article concerning new Lacey City Council members. ("HARD AT WORK," Lacey Leader, 1/28/1976) The images of Beverly Hilts and Al Striggow (group "c") were created for inclusion with an article concerning a fundraiser for North Thurston High School.
