Description

Diabetic Girl, 1976. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a young woman (Denise Kuehnle) injecting her left thigh with a syringe. This young woman has long hair and is wearing a long-sleeved top made up of quilt-like squares of various patterns. She is also wearing jean shorts and knee socks. She is sitting in a chair. She is looking downward at the syringe. Images 6-9 are all nearly identical. Printed at intervals along the left-hand edge of this strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063." These images were created for inclusion with an article concerning diabetes. ("Third major killer is little understood," Lacey Leader, 6/16/1976)
