Name/Title

Iron, Tailor's

Entry/Object ID

2001-012a

Description

Metal clothes iron without a self-contained heat source. The object is heavily corroded and something (probably a handle) has been removed from the top leaving connecting devices (screw ends) exposed. There is an opening in the rear that would permit the insertion of something (like hot coals or a heated metal object) to provide heat to the sole plate. There is an oval shaped imprint of the top containing numerous letters or numbers but they could not be read. The object was found on the Kinney family property at 920 Sleater-Kinney Rd NE
