Square Dance Festival, 1976. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show children standing on the shore of the Deschutes River holding innertubes, and two men in western-style outfits posing in front of a banner. Image 25 shows three children standing on the shore of the Deschutes River. The child farthest from the camera is holding an innertube with "SHOOT THE DESCHUTES," "TUMWATER ROTARY" and "JUNE 19" stenciled on it. Image 26 shows two balding men in western-style outfits standing in front of a banner. Both men are looking toward the camera. The men are obscuring most of the text on the banner. Image 27 is very similar to the previous image, but here the men are holding boater hats in their hands. Image 28 is very similar to the previous image, but here the man on the left is looking toward the man on the right. Image 29 is very similar to the previous image, but here the men have moved to the right by several feet. Image 30 is similar to the previous images, but here one man is standing to each side of the banner. Here "CAPITAL PAVILION" and "OLYMPIA" are visible in the lower right-hand corner of the image (note that the Capital Pavilion was/is located on the Saint Martin's campus in Lacey). Image 31 is nearly identical to image 30. Image 32 shows the two men side-by-side. Image 33 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 34 shows three seated men holding musical instruments. The man on the left is Lud Kramer. He is holding a double-necked electric guitar. The man at center is Johnny Lewis. He is holding a saxophone. The man on the right is holding an acoustic-electric guitar.Made/Created
