Description

Bonker-Yung Democratic Women's Club, 1975. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show three women and one man speaking to a medium-sized crowd of all women. These images were captured at the Tyee Motor Inn in Olympia, Washington. Image 13 shows a woman with a bouffant hairstyle and glasses at left and a woman with short, wavy hair standing at a podium. The woman on the right is speaking. Image 14 shows a woman (Marj Yung) with wavy, shoulder-length hair leaning on the podium and speaking. Image 15 shows the audience listening to the speakers. The audience is made up all of women. They are facing toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 16 shows a man (Don Bonker) in a suit and tie speaking at the podium. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 17 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. These images were captured during the Washington Federation of Democratic Women's Clubs' state convention held in late June, 1975 at the Tyee Motor Inn in Olympia, Washington.
