Description

Black and white negative of a cannon at the Historical Society Building in Tacoma. In the foreground is a shadow of a person, probably the photographer. The cannon is in the center of the image, and has two large wheels visible. Above that is the carriage which has a plaque on the side with writing, that which is readable says "cannon politkofsky". There is a key ring hanging on the side. Above the carriage is the barrel of the cannon, with a pivot rod on the carriage. Behind the cannon is a building with a column and a brick wall. At the left is windows of a building. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#1293 11/22/39". The negative is inserted, along with a print of the image, into a cream colored envelope that has typed "11/22/39 Old Russian cannon at the Historical Society Building, Tacoma, Washington - side view". Stamped is "1293" and "indexed".
