Description

Wooden plaque. On the front is a raised band in the shape of a curved triangle. On the band are the words "U.S.A. Veterans of World War I". Inside the triangle is carved three leaves on a stem. Near the bottom of the plaque is carved "Olympia Barracks 215". In the lower right had corner is scratched "Monroe A. Shenkel". On the back is a brass oval extending above the top for hanging. Written on the back in black is "Shenkel". In red is "Carved by Monroe A. Shenkel Sept 1972, age 77 yrs 1058820". Something else may have been written in pencil and scratched off.
