Description

Unidentified People, 1976. These five black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these images will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show two men posing together for photos, a man posing individually, and a woman seated at a desk. Image 23a shows a man with curly hair wearing a dress shirt at the center of the image, and bald man wearing glasses and a dress shirt at the right-hand side of the image. The man at right is either seated or considerably shorter than the other man. Images 24a through 27a are nearly identical to image 23a. Image 39a shows a man with hair parted to his right wearing glasses, a plaid suit and a patterned tie. He is facing directly toward the camera and is shown from the mid-torso up. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 40a is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. Image 41a is very similar to image 39a, but here the man's head is tilted slightly to his left. Images 42a and 43a re nearly identical to image 41a. Image 4a shows a woman with very long, straight hair wearing glasses and a t-shirt seated at a desk. The desk is on the right-hand side of the image, and the woman is on the left. She is turning her head toward the camera and is looking toward the camera. She appears angry to be having her picture taken. Images 5a and 6a are nearly identical to the previous image. The images in group "b" show two young women posing for photos. Image 1b shows a young woman with very long, slightly wavy hair with bangs wearing a short-sleeved, collared dress. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. She is smiling. She is shown from the mid-torso up. Image 2b is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 3b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 4b is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 5b shows a young woman with long, curly hair parted at the center wearing a plaid dress with a tie at the neckline and short, ruffled sleeves. She is smiling and her eyes are closed. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is shown from the mid-torso up. Image 6b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's eyes are open. Image 7b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman has less of a smile on her face. Image 8b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 9b is nearly identical to the previous image.
