Description

Black and white negative of a WW I German gun. The gun is on a concrete pad and has large wooden wheels There is a tongue for towing and a shield with the words "keep off". The barrel is almost hidden by the shield. Behind the gun is grass, a sidewalk, vehicles and people, and a street with buildings. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#2004 1/5/40". The negative is inserted, along with a print of the image, into a cream colored envelope that has typed "January 5, 1940 An old German field piece in City Park, Olympia, a World War trophy Taken about 3 p.m. on a cloudy day. Aperture 6.3 exposure 1/10s; distance 10 feet.". Stamped is "2004" and "indexed".
