Timberline Honor Students, 1974. These six black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are duplicated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show eight young women and three young men individually posing for portrait-style photos. All of these people are shown from the mid-torso up. Image 9a shows a young women with wavy hair pinned back on her right-hand side wearing a patterned, button-up shirt. The pattern appears to partially consist of spoked wheels and railroad tracks. Her head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 10a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman is turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 11a shows a young woman with curly, chin-length hair wearing a coat over a tank-top cut sweater over a collared shirt. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. She is looking toward the camera and not smiling. Image 12a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned slightly toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 13a shows a young woman with long, loosely-curly hair and bangs wearing glasses and a jacket over a sweater. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. Image 14a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 15a shows a young woman with long hair which is curly at the ends wearing a short-sleeved sweater. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 16a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 17a shows a young woman with medium-length, very wavy hair wearing glasses and a short-sleeved shirt. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 18a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 19a shows a young man with wavy, shoulder-length hair wearing a collared shirt. His head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. His arms are folded at his chest. Image 20a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young man's head and body are turned toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 21a shows a young man with curly hair and sideburns wearing a button-up shirt. His head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. He is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 22a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young man's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 23a shows a young woman with long, wavy hair wearing a collared, short-sleeved blouse. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. She is looking toward the camera and smiling slightly. Image 24a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 25a shows a young woman very wavy, shoulder-length hair wearing a sleeveless, horizontally-striped, turtleneck top. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image. Image 26a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 27a shows a young man with chin-length hair wearing glasses and a patterned, button-up shirt. The pattern on the shirt is made up of stylized dragons. His head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 28a shows a young woman with wavy, shoulder-length hair wearing a floral patterned, button-up shirt. Her head and body are turned slightly toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 29a is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame.

Image 28b shows a youn woum with short, straight hair and bangs wearing a cardigan over a sweater. Her head and body are turned toward the right-hand side of the image. She is smiling an her eyes are partially closed. Image 29b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image. Here her eyes are fully closed and she is smiling. Image 30b shows a young woman with very long, straight hair wearing a half-turtleneck sweater. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 31b is very similar to the previous image, but here the young woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 32b shows a young woman with shoulder-length, curled hair wearing a dress made of a stif-looking fabric. Her head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling.
