Blood Drive, Unknown Date. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show people involved in the blood donation process.
Image 3 shows a bearded man with curly hair placing a blood pressure monitor on a man (Wes Barclift) with straight hair and a mustache. Both men are seated at a desk. The man with the beard is on the left, and the man with the mustache is on the right. This image is oriented vertically. Image 4 shows the bearded man taking the blood pressure reading. The man with the beard has a stethoscope in his ears. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 5 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer is standing behind the right shoulder of the bearded man. Image 6 shows a man with a very bushy beard wearing glasses and a blazer over a v-neck sweater. He is seated at a desk or tale, and is leaning on the table with his hands folded in front of him. This man appears to be Bill Bush. He is looking toward a person who is partially visible along the left-hand edge of the image frame. Image 7 shows a woman taking Mr. Bush's blood pressure. Both the woman and Mr. Bush are seated at a desk. The woman is on the left and the man is on the right. Image 8 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer is standing behind the right shoulder of the woman taking the blood pressure reading. A second woman with glasses is visible standing next to the left-hand edge of the image. Image 9 shows Mr. Bush laying on a medical cot. A man with a mustache is leaning over Mr. Bush and touching his arm. There is a tube attached to the inside of Mr. Bush's elbow. The man with the mustache is looking up at the camera. Image 10 is very similar to the previous image, but here the man with the mustache is looking down at Mr. Bush. Mr. Bush is leaning his head up slightly from the cot and looking toward the camera. Image 11 is similar to the two previous images, but here the photographer is standing at the bottom end of the medical cot. The man with the mustache is kneeling down next to the cot and reaching underneath it. Image 12 is very similar to the previous image, but here the man with the mustache is standing next to the cot. Image 13 shows Mr. Bush laying on the cot and lifting his head up slightly. He is only visible from the mid-thigh up. This image is oriented vertically. Image 14 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented horizontally. Image 15 is very similar to image 13, but here the photographer has moved slightly to their right.
