Traffic and Highway, Unknown Date. These five black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show elevated views of a highway and a car parked in some grass. Image 32 shows two two-lane roads running parallel with a fairly wide median between them. The inner edge of the road to the left has a guard rail. Both of these roads curve off toward the left in the distance. Images 33 through 35 are nearly identical to image 32. Image 36 shows two two-lane roads running parallel with a fairly wide median between them. Within the median are two guardrails that come together in a point just to the right of the center of the image. Images 37-39 are nearly identical to image 36. Image 40 shows a small pickup truck speeding by on an overpass. The photographer is standing on the same overpass. The truck is pointed toward the right, and is blurred. Image 41 focuses on the two lane road seen on the left-hand side of images 32-35. A semi truck is about to pass beneath the overpass. Image 43 looks down on two two-lane roads running parallel. In the median between the roads is a sign which reads "LANE ENDS MERGE RIGHT" and "1500 FEET." Images 43 and 44 focus on the sign. These images are oriented vertically. Images 1-6 also focus on the sign, but these images are oriented horizontally. Image 7 shows a portion of a two-lane road. Images 8 and 9 are nearly identical to image 7. Image 10 shows a car parked in some grass. On the front end of the car is visible. On the side of the car above and to the left of the tire is "Rambler Custom." It appears that the photographer was crouching or kneeling down when capturing this image. Image 11 is similar to the previous image, but here it appears that the photographer has stood up. The photographer has also panned to the right slightly, making a portion of the rear passenger-side window and door partially visible.Made/Created
