MAD Winner Tim Malone, 1976. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two men Tim Malone and Tom Mackin) in a car (a 1976 Dtsun Honey Bee), the same two men standing outside of a car, and one of the men sitting in the car. One of the men is bearded and is wearing glasses, a bowtie, and a blazer. This man is Tim Malone. The other man is wearing a standard tie and a blazer. This man is Tom Mackin. It appears these images were captured at the Olympia Datsun dealership. Image 16 shows the two men in the car. The man with the beard is in the passenger seat of the car. This image was captured from outside of the passenger's side of the car. Only the upper section of the middle portion of the car is visible in this image. Image 17 shows the two men standing outside of the car. The man in the standard tie is closer to the camera, and is partially obscuring the man in the bowtie. Both men are facing toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Both men are reaching into the breast pocket of their blazers. The car is partially visible in the background. Printed or in decal on the car to the left of the back tire is "Honey Bee." Image 18 is very similar to the previous image, but here the men are looking at each other, and neither is reaching into any pockets. Image 19 is very similar to image 17, but here the man in the standard tie has stepped backward and is no longer obscuring the man in the bowtie. Image 20 is similar to the previous image, but here the man in the bowtie is touching the lower part of his blazer's lapels. He is also looking at the man in the standard tie. Image 21 is very similar to the previous image, but here both men are looking toward the lower-left corner of the image. The man in the bowtie has his hands behind his back. Image 22 shows the man in the bowtie seated in the driver's seat of the car. He has a large smile on his face and he is looking toward the camera. Only the driver's-side window area of the car is visible in this image. Image 23 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved slightly farther away from the man/car. Image 24 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 25 shows an extremely faint image of a person working at an office desk.
These images were captured for inclusion with an article concerning Tim Malone's raffle winning of a 1976 Datsun Honey Bee at the 1976 MAD Festival. Tom Mackin was president of the Olympia Datsun dealership. "Tim Malone wins Datsun Honey Bee," Lacey Leader, 9/8/1976
Printed in alternation along one long edge of each of these strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
