Description

Airstreamers, 1976. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show moving and parked Airstream trailers. Image 4 shows an Airstream trailer traveling down a fairly busy street. The only part of the Airstream which is visible in this image is the back end. This image was captured from a vehicle following behind the Airstream. Image 5 is very similar to the previous image, but here the Airstream is closer to the camera. Image 6 shows many Airstreams parked in rows in a field. Image 7 shows an Airstream being pulled toward the camera by a pickup truck. A row of parked Airstreams are visible at the right, and a house is visible in the background on the left. Image 8 shows the pickup truck pulling the Airstream having moved closer to the camera. Image 9 shows the pickup truck pulling the Airstream having moved yet closer to the camera. Image 10 shows the back end of a car at left and the front end of an Airstream at right. The Airstream is hitched to the car. A tall billboard in the upper center of the background reads "WELCOME AIRSTREAMERS." Image 11 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photogrpaher has backed a considerbale distance away from the car and Airstream. Image 12 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their left and closer to the car. Saint Martin's Capital Pavilion is visible in the background. Image 13 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved much closer to the car. Only the rear portion of the car is visible in this image. Image 14 shows only the Airstream which is hitched to the car. These images were captured for inclusion with a notice in the Lacey Leader newspaper concerning a gathering of Airstream travel trailer enthusiasts being held at the Saint Martin's campus. ("Arrival," Lacey Leader, 8/25/1976) Printed in alternation along one long edge of all of these strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
