Description

Black and white negative of the bilge of a barge built by Reliable Welding. In the foreground is gravel and odd wooden pieces. Beginning at the left foreground and extending back at an angle is a concrete support on which are ties and rails. Rectangular blocks support a flat metal piece with a curled edge. Above that are metal baffles with reinforcing beams that extend to the right edge of the image. Above the baffles is a steel beam with a pulley block. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#2188 January 1941". The negative is inserted, along with a print of the image, into a cream colored envelope that has typed "January 1941 - Olympia Bilge of steel barge built by the Reliable Welding Works". Stamped is "2188" and "indexed".
