Description

Tug boat races 1976. These 10 black and white images were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a tugboat race. Image 4 shows a ship called Odin on the water in the foreground with other ships in the background. Image 5 is very similar to image 4 but the photographer has zoomed in on Odin. Image 6 is very similar to image 5. Image 7 is very similar to image 6 but the photographer has zoomed in and only the first half of ship is visible. Image 8 shows half of the ship Odin. Also in frame is another ship with visible lettering "ELIE." Image 9 shows the prow of a ship with the phrase, "U.S. Coast Guard" visible. A ship call Inverness is also visible. Two other ships are also visible. Image 10 shows a pier with several people on it. A larger ship with Asian lettering plus the text "Alaska Maru" is visible in the background. Two small boats are visible in the foreground, as well as a ship called Hastwiana and another ship behind without visible lettering. Image 11 is very similar to image 10. Image 12 shows a ship called Twobits along with the front half of a second, larger ship. Image 13 also shows the ship Twobits, as well as a second unlabeled ship in the background. Printed along one long edge of strip is "Kodak Safety Film."
