Description

Black and white negative of an oil barge built by Reliable Welding. The barge is moored next to a wooden dock, and the mooring cleats and ropes are visible along with what appears to be an electrical cord. On the deck of the barge is a room-like structure with an open door. On top of the structure are ventilators and other extensions with wide openings. There is a ladder leaning on the structure and a mast next to it. Beside it are pipes and valves. Behind the barge is water and the far shore with trees. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "2205 March 1941". The negative is inserted, along with a print of the image, into a cream colored envelope that has typed "March, 1941 - Olympia Pump house on Steel Barge, built by the Reliable Welding Works, after launching". Stamped is "2205" and "indexed".
