Description

Don Bonker, 1975. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (Don Bonker) seated at a table and speaking with several people, and a man and woman presenting awards to children. Image 16 shows a blurry shot of what appears to be the tops of two desks. Image 17 shows Don Bonker seated at the end of a cafeteria table. He is wearing a suit and diagonally-striped tie. His hands are resting on the table and he is looking down toward the table. An older man and older woman are sitting near to him at the table. An arm holding a microphone is reaching into the shot from the left side toward Mr. Bonker. A table with several small pieces of industrial equipment is visible at the left-hand side of the image. Image 18 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Bonker is gesturing with his hands out in front of him and spread apart. The arm holding the microphone is not visible in this image. Image 19 shows Mr. Bonker with his hands again resting on the table. He is looking toward a woman seated at the table across from him. This woman is facing away from the camera. Image 20 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their right by several feet. Mr. Bonker is shown in profile. Image 21 is similar to image 19, but here the photographer has moved to their left by several feet. Images 22 and 23 are very similar to image 21, but in each the photographer has moved more to their left. Image 24 shows crowd of children facing toward the camera. A man in a plaid blazer is partially visible at the left-hand side of the image. This man is facing away from the camera. Image 25 shows a man with a mustache wearing glasses and a plaid suit holding up a paper award. This man is standing immediately to the left of a woman with long hair wearing a fairly long jacket and long skirt. To the left of the man and woman is a portion of the crowd of children. To the right of the man and woman is a bookshelf. This image appears to have been captured in a library. Image 26 is very similar to the previous image, but here the man and woman are facing each other. The man is leaning forward toward the woman. Image 27 shows the man and woman each holding a paper award and facing toward the camera. Six children are standing around the man and woman. Image 28 is nearly identical to the previous image.
