Future Site of Lacey Civic Plaza, 1977. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show an outdoor site being prepared for construction.
Image 15 shows an area of dirt and gravel with two Z-shaped trenches dug into it. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 16 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. A McDonald's restaurant, a passing van and a sign turned away from the camera are visible in the background. Image 17 is very similar to image 15, but here the photographer has moved away or zoomed out from the ditches. Image 18 shows two small construction barricades set up along the edge of a sidewalk. The sidewalk is on the right-hand side of the image, the barricades are roughly centered, and a road with passing cars is on the left. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 20 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. Much less of the road is visible in this image versus the previous image. Image 21 is similar to image 19, but here the photographer has moved onto the roadside side of the barricades. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 22 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. Image 23 is nearly identical to image 18. Image 24 shows most of a sign which reads "FUTURE SITE OF LACEY CIVIC PLAZA. Visible behind the sign are piles of dirt. Images 25-27 are very similar to image 23. Images 28 and 29 show a man in a fedora digging ditches.
