Christmas Trees, 1977. These four black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show cut Christmas trees, small trees growing at a tree farm, trees being loaded into and hauled by a truck, and trees going into a machine which ties them for transport.
Image 24 shows tied Christmas trees stacked up. Image 25 shows a large field with small Christmas trees growing in it. Image 26 is identical to the previous image. Image 27 shows a semi truck loaded with Christmas trees. Image 28 shows an open area with several stacks of Christmas trees around the edges of the image. There is a tree-tying machine (resembles a wood chipper) and a parked semi trailer also in the image. Image 29 shows a man standing on top of the stacked Christmas trees in the back of a semi trailer. Image 30 shows two people feeding a Christmas tree into the tree-tying machine. Image 31 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 32 six people standing in an open-topped semi trailer partially filled with Christmas trees. Three people are standing on the ground alongside the semi trailer. Image 33 is very similar to the previous image. Image 34 shows several stacks of tied Christmas trees. Two semi-trailers partially filled with Christmas trees are visible in the background. Image 35 shows a tree going through the tree-tying machine. Three men are standing at the outlet end of the machine and one man is walking away from the input end. Image 37 shows a bearded man pulling Christmas trees off of a conveyor belt. Image 38 is very similar to the previous image. Image 39 looks down the length of a conveyor belt. One person at the far end is either placing trees on the conveyor belt or taking them off. Images 40 and 41 are nearly identical to image 39. Image 42 shows a tractor pulling a long flat-bed trailer stacked with Christmas trees.Made/Created
