Chip Wilson, 1978. These five black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man with a beard and wearing glasses (Chip Wilson) working in a music recording studio.
Image 26 shows Mr. Wilson seated and leaning back in a chair. He is wearing a collared, thin sweater. He is gesturing with his left hand. He is facing toward the right-hand side of the image frame. There is electronic equipment visible behind him along the back wall. Image 27 is very similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Wilson is not gesturing. Image 28 is similar to the previous two images, but here Mr. Wilson's head is turned toward the camera. Image 29 is very similar to image 26, but here Mr. Wilson is not gesturing. Image 30 shows Mr. Wilson with the fingers of both hands laced together in front of his chest. Image 31 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 32 shows Mr. Wilson seated and leaning forward in the chair. He is looking down at a document held in his hands. There is a sound engineering control panel partially visible at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 33 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Wilson is looking and gesturing with the document toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 34 shows a close-up shot of Mr. Wilson's face in profile. Image 35 shows Mr. Wilson standing on the far side of a grand piano. Only Mr. Wilson's head is visible above the opened cover of the piano. Image 36 shows Mr. Wilson standing with his hands on his hips and facing away from the camera. In front of him is a xylophone or similar instrument. Image 37 shows Mr. Wilson wearing headphones and facing toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 38 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 39 is very similar to the two previous images, but here Mr. Wilson's head is turned away from the camera. Image 40 is very similar to image 39, but here the photographer has zoomed out or moved away from Mr. Wilson. A man seated at a drum set is visible in the background,. Image 41 is nearly identical to the previous image. Images 42 and 43 are very similar to image 39. Image 44 shows a close-up shot of Mr. Wilson in profile. He is facing toward the left-hand side of the image frame. This image is blurry. Image 1 shows Mr. Wilson standing with his hands held up in front of himself. He appears to be demonstrating a drumming pattern to someone outside of the shot. A cymbal is partially visible at the bottom edge of the image. Images 2 and 3 are very similar to the previous image. Image 4 shows Mr. Wilson in profile facing toward the right-hand side of the image frame. He is holding his hands out in front of himself, palms up.
