Description

Randy Dean, 1978. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man in a button-up shirt, tie, and glasses seated behind a desk. He is resting both arms on the desk, and his right hand is poised over a calculator. Stacked on the desk at the right-hand side of the image are a folder and a binder. A window is visible at the right-hand edge of the image with "Dean Securities" (facing outward) on it. A small sign partially visible behind the man's left arm reads, in part, "Lacey Area Chamber of Commerce." Image 19 shows the man at the desk. The window at the right-hand side of the image is fully visible. Images 20 and 21 are nearly identical to the previous image. Image 22 shows the photographer having moved slightly toward their right. Here the window is only partially visible. Image 23 is nearly identical to the previous image. Dean Securities was located in an indoor mall called "Olympian By The Park," which was previously the Hotel Olympian, at the corner of Legion Way ans Washington Street in Olympia, Washington. ("Business Briefs," Daily Olympian, 9/1/1978) Printed at intervals along the top edge of this strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
