Saint Martin's College Play "Ondine," 1980. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a performance or rehearsal of a Saint Martin's drama department's production of the play "Ondine." The play was performed at the Abbey Theater on April 25, 26 and 27, 1980. All of these images show actors on stage.
Image 13 shows a man and a woman, both in medieval-style costume, facing each other and holding hands. The woman is on the left and is seated on a chair and has a net worn over her torso, the man is at right and is kneeling. Image 14 shows a woman standing at center with her arms held out loosely to her sides. One man is standing on either side of the woman, and each man is holding on to one of the woman's arms. The woman has a net over her torso. All three of the people are facing toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 15 is very similar to the previous image, but here all three people's torsos are oriented toward the camera. Image 16 shows the woman wearing the net standing at center with one man at either side and one man, standing on a chair, standing behind the woman. The woman is turned toward the man at the left, and appears to be pleading with him. Image 17 shows the four people still in the same positions as in the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their right by approximtely 12-15 feet. Image 18 shows a man in a long cape kneeling next to the woman wearing the net. The woman appears to be seated. Image 19 shows the man nd woman in the same positions as in the previous image. Image 20 shows a bearded man seated on a stool. One woman stands to either side of him. Images 21 and 22 are effectively identical to image 20. Image 23 shows a woman in a wedding dress and veil seated at left and the bearded man seated at right. They are looking at each other and holding hands. Image 24 is very similar to the previous image, but here the man and woman are standing. Images 25 and 26 are effectively identical to image 24. Image 27 shows the bearded man at center wearing armor and a long cape. To the left of this bearded man is a woman, to the right of the bearded man is a second bearded man. The man and woman at either side are facing toward the man at center. Image 28 shows the bearded man, still wearing the cape and armor, kneeling at the center of the image. One woman stands to either side of him and is facing toward him. Image 29 shows the bearded man, no longer in armor, seated at right and the woman wearing the net seated at left. Three woman, each in a loose poncho-style cape, are standing behind the man and woman and holding their arms up. The woman wearing the net is touching the bearded man's head with and open palm. Images 30 and 31 are nearly identical to image 29.
Printed at intervals along one long edge of each of these strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
