Description

Anna Foy on a boat traveling to Victoria, B.C. Black and white photographic print with a 1/4" white border. Image of a middle-aged woman wearing a long dark dress and a woolen winter coat with a fur collar, glasses and a hat. She is holding a clutch purse and leaning on a boat railing. The ocean can be seen in the background. On the bottom edge is written "Anna Foy" in blue ink covering the original inscription "My Chaperone?" The reverse side has remnants of black paper and adhesive suggesting it came from a photo album. Written at the top in pencil is "#587, 2390" which refers to museum negative numbers. Diagonally across the center in blue pen is "Anna I. Foy" and below this crossed out in pencil, "Donor: Ollie Van Slyke." According to the donor, this trip was taken when Anna was the postmaster. She was postmaster from 1915-1954.
