MAD Festival Princesses, Unknown Date. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show performances and a swimsuit contest at one of the MAD Festivals. An unoccupied office is also shown. All of these images, aside from that of the office, were captured in the Capital Pavilion on the Saint Martin's campus.
Image 30 shows a blurry shot of an office with no one in it. The top portion of a wooden office chair is visible at the bottom center of the image. A large, multi-level desk is visible at the left-hand side of the image. Another desk is partially visible at the right-hand side of the image. Image 31 shows 3-4 MAD Festival princesses performing a dance routine. All of them are wearing bowler hats. A stage is visible behind the dancers. Image 32 shows a person in a knee-length skirt or very wide pants holding a cane or similar object over their head and dancing. Image 33 shows a line of indistinct figures walking from the right-hand side of the image toward the left. This image is very underexposed. Image 34 is blank. Image 35 shows a woman in a tiara and a floor-length formal dress standing at the center of the image. A man in a tuxedo talking into a microphone is to the left of the woman in the tiara. This man is likely Dick Pust. Image 36 shows a young woman in a one-piece bathing suit wearing a sash which reads "MISS GREENWOOD..." (the last word is not visible) walking from right to left. She is shown from the knees up. Image 37 shows a different young woman in a one-piece bathing suit. She is wearing a sash, but only the "MISS" is visible. She has a round object on her right hip with the number 5 on it. She is walking from the left-hand side of the image toward the right. Image 38 shows the same young woman from the previous image, but here she is walking toward the camera. Here, her sash can be seen to read "MISS BANK OF..." Image 39 shows a different young woman in a one-piece bathing suit walking toward the camera. Her sash reads "MISS LACEY CHAMBER." A round object on her right hip has the number 4 on it. Image 40 shows the woman from the previous image standing and looking toward the camera. Image 41 shows a different young woman in a one-piece bathing suit walking from the left-hand side of the image frame toward the right. She is looking toward the camera. There are several younger girls in bathing suits sitting on the floor. Image 42 shows the young woman from the previous image walking toward the camera. Here it can be seen that her sash reads "MISS LACEY ROTARY." The round object on her hip has the number 3 on it. Image 43 appears to have been double or triple exposed, overlapping several images onto one Four contestants and several children sitting on the floor are visible.
