Saint Peter Hospital, 1979. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two ambulances, medical personnel loading and unloading an injured person into an ambulance, and a person being treated in a hospital. The person being treated appears to have a stomach wound. These images were captured at Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.
Image 30 shows an ambulance driving down a road past two parked cars. The ambulance appears to be a converted van. The side of the ambulance reads "ARROW AMBULANCE." Image 31 shows a different ambulance which has the more standard shape of a van cab with box rear end. The side of the ambulance reads "THURSTON COUNTY AMBULANCE" and "MEDIC 1." This ambulance is driving down a small road. Image 32 shows a man standing just inside the open rear door of an ambulance. This man is facing away from the camera. Image 33 shows two men pushing a person on a stretcher away from the open back of an ambulance. A man on the left-hand side of the image is holding one side of the back door of the ambulance open. Image 34 shows five people standing around the man on the stretcher. This image was captured in a hallway at the hospital. Image 35 is very similar to the previous image, but here there are more people standing around the stretcher and two people are pushing an empty stretcher past the other group of people. Image 36 shows two men carrying a stretcher out of the back of an ambulance. Imae 37 shows two men pushing the stretcher as two other men stand next to the stretcher. Image 38 shows many people gathered around a man on a stretcher. This image was captured in a hospital hallway. Image 39 shows two women and two men standing next to a man on a stretcher. One of the women is attending to a wound on the man's stomach. Image 40 is very similar to the previous image, but here only one man and two women are in the image. Image 41 shows some people in the back of an ambulance. Image 42 shows two men standing at the open back of an ambulance. Image 43 shows three people taking a person on a stretcher out of the back of an ambulance. Image 44 shows two men bringing a person on a stretcher up to a hospital door. Image 1 shows one woman and one man bending down and holding on to either end of a stretcher with a person on it. Several other people are looking on.Made/Created
