Description

Fire Department Christmas Tree Burning. Unknown date. These seven black and white negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. They depict a pine tree in various states of being burned. Some portrait shots, and images of the exterior of the library. Images 1a-5a, 6-8 are a series of pictures of a tall, narrow pine tree with paper mound up near its base. As the pictures progress the tree is more burned, starting before the fire is lit until the fire is extinguished and only the bare branches of the tree remains. Images 9-18 are a series of pictures of a shorter wider pine tree with paper mound up near its base. As the pictures progress the tree is more burned, starting before the fire is lit until the fire is extinguished and only the bare branches of the tree remains. Images 20-21 are portrait shots of a man in a short sleeved, collared shirt and tie. Images 43-44, 1b-5b are of the exterior of the front of the Lacey Public Library. Printed at intervals along the edge of the strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM", "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM".
