Description

Thurston County Fair, 1980. These six black and white negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. They depict animals and people at the fair. Image 26 is of an adult guiding a child's hand to pet a donkey. Image 27-28a is of a woman sitting on a fence petting horses. Image 29a is of a goat's head through a fence. Image 29b, 30a-32a are of a person riding a horse through an obstacle course. Images 28b, 29c, 30b-32b are of horses being held still by their handler who stands next to the horse while a judge examines each horse. Image 33a-34a are of a child riding a ride shaped like automobiles, the car the child sits in is made to look like a police car. Image 35a is of people riding a ride where their seats are attached to tethers and spun around to lift them in the air. Image 33b is of a person riding a horse over a patch of branches. Image 34b is of a woman with long hair sitting in front of several dogs on leashes. Image 35b is of several people petting a dog who is laying on top of a table. Image 36 is of a child petting a small animal (rabbit?) on a hay bale. Image 37 s of two women and three children leaning over a fence. Image 38 is of an adult and a child looking over a fence. Image 39 is of a sow and four piglets. Images 40-41 are of various people riding a carousel. Images 42-43 are of cars lined up outside of a Bank of America. Printed at intervals along the edge of the strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063".
