North Thurston High School Library, Unknown Dates. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a woman working with an unknown piece of equipment, the woman and a man hitting each other with small pillows, and exterior shots of a building. Image 2a shows the woman sitting at a piece of equipment which consists mostly of a horizontal cylinder approximately three feet in length. She is in an office. Image 3a is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 4a shows the woman holding up a small pillow as if preparing to hit a man on the right-hand side of the image. The man is making a similar gesture with another small pillow. Image 5a is nearly identical to the previous image. Images 16a through 19a show exterior shots of a building on the North Thurston High School campus which may be the library. Image 20a shows another exterior shot of a building on the high school campus, but here a sign reading "NORTH THURSTON High SCHOOL" across the top is visible next to the building.
The images in group "b" show books and library furniture in a partially-set up library. Image 3b shows many, many books in tall stacks on the floor. Image 4b is very similar to the previous image. Images 5b through 7b show study carrels. Image 8b shows a very tall, heavy-duty bookshelf laying on its side. Image 9b shows some upright bookshelves and other miscellaneous items.
Printed along one long edge of each of these strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
