Lacey City Council, c. 1972-1973. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a Lacey City Council Meeting, probably sometime from 1972 to 1973. Image 7a shows four men seated at a row of folding tables. These men are, from left to right, City Councilmen Tom Huntamer, Tom Buckingham, Ed Davis and Hap Kemp. Image 8a shows Ralph H. Klei, Sr (City Engineer) and Huntamer conferring. Images 9a and 10a show Mayor Albert Van Andel posing for individual, portrait-style photos. Images 11a and 12a show Councilmembers Jay Meeker, Gene Asselstine, Ed Davis and Hap Kemp seated at folding tables with maps leaning on the wall behind them. Images 13a through 15a show Klei, Huntamer, Buckingham and Asselstine at folding tables with windows behind them. 13a also shows C. R. Koetsch, City Clerk, who resigned March 31, 1973.
The images in group "b" show Dick Johnson posing individually for photos. All of these images 15b-19b show Johnson in a suit and tie and posing for photos. This might be from when he was appointed to City Council in 1973.
The images in group "c" show an unknown woman speaking on a telephone and Mark Brown posing for individual photos. Image 2c shows a woman speaking on a telephone, the cradle section of which is on top of two stacked cardboard boxes. She is kneeling next to the boxes. Images 3c through 6c show Mark Brown posing for photos.Made/Created
