Description

Lydia Hawks Elementary X-mas Bazaar and Carnival, 12-01-1979. These seven black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. They depict several adults and children at different points during the event. Images 15-18 are of a boy kneeling in front of a display table full of Christmas holiday decorations holding a sign which reads "Lydia Hawk Elementary School Annual X-mas Bazaar + Carnival Dec. 1 5-9:00 pm". Images 27-29 are of two girls standing on either side of an adult woman. Each of them is holding a calendar which reads "Pacific Peaks Girl Scout Council 1980 Calendar ". Image 36a is of a crowd of children sitting on the floor in rows in a gymnasium. An adult is working a projector near the front row of children. Image 37a-38a are of several children on a stage, many of the children have signs which read the names of states and years. Most of the children are in period clothing/costumes. A sign on the left side of the stage reads "1975-1979". A sign on some room dividers behind the children reads "Old Glory". Images 30-33, 34a-35a are of several different children running tables with holiday gifts for sale and activities. Images 34b-37b are of a group of sevel children posed together holding awards. Images 36c-38c, 39b are of a series of children receiveing an award from a man at a microphone. Images 38b, 39a, 40-42 are of a girl standing posed against the wall, she is holding a trophy in her hand by her side. Printed at intervals along the edge of the strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM", "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM", and KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063".
