Description

Money Lab, Gene Dolan, Rex Taptar, Jo and Virgil Adams, 1980. These four black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film rolls from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. Based on limited research, it appears that some or all of these people may be misidentified in this sleeve's title. Specifically, none of these people very closely resembles Gene Dolan. Also, the last name "Taptar" may be based on a typo or poor handwriting at some point in the life of these images. The images in group "a" show two different men in suits posing for photos. Image 2a shows a man with curly hair and a mustache wearing a tie with dots and stripes on it, and a blazer. He is shown from the waist up. Images 3a through 6a are nearly identical to image 2a. Image 7a shows a man with a mustache and hair parted toward his right wearing a striped tie and a blazer. He is standing in what appears to be the lobby of a bank. He is shown from the waist up. Images 8a through 10a are nearly identical to image 7a. The images in group "b" show a woman with wavy hair wearing a v-neck top and a necklace working behind what appears to be a bank teller counter. All of the images (19b through 22b) are nearly identical to each other. The images in group "c" show a man in a pinstriped suit and striped tie posing for photos. He is shown from the waist up. All of these images (9c through 12c) are nearly identical to each other.
