Rotary Awards, 1979. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show six different people posing individually for portrait-style photos. Image 30a shows a young woman with shorter, curly hair wearing a vertically-striped shirt. Images 31a through 33a are effectively identical to image 30a. Image 34a shows a young woman with long hair pulled partially back wearing a floral-print top. Images 35a and 37a are effectively identical to image 34a (36a is blank). Image 38a shows a man with hair parted down the center wearing a cross necklace and a v-neck collared shirt. Images 39a through 41a are effectively identical to image 38a. Image 42a shows a man with a receding hairline wearing glasses and a police uniform. Images 43a and 44a are effectively identical to image 42a. Image 1a shows a young person with wavy, shoulder-length hair wearing a vertically-striped shirt. Images 2a and 3a are effectively identical to image 1a. Image 4a shows a man with a beard wearing a thin sweater or sweatsuit top.
The images in group "b" show three different people posing individually for portrait-style photos. Image 17b shows a man with a receding hairline and glasses wearing a jacket over a collared shirt. Images 18b through 20b are virtually identical to image 17b. Image 33b shows a young man wearing a shirt with a Mandarin collar. Images 34b and 35b are nearly identical to image 33b. Image 36b shows a young woman with long, curly hair wearing a collared shirt. Images 37b and 38b are nearly identical to image 36b.Made/Created
