KMAS Radio Advertisement, Unknown Date. These three contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which it originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a country music group playing on stage and posing for group photos. Images 16a through 18a show the group performing on stage. The musicians, from left to right, are: a pedal steel guitar player, an electric guitar player, a vocalist, a drummer and an electric bass player. The bass appears to have two garters hanging from the tuning head. Images 19a through 23a show the same group of people posing together for group photos. They are on stage in the group photos.
The images in group "b" show four men posing with a hatchback car. One man is in the driver's seat, two are standing outside of the car, and one is kneeling outside of the car. They are all looking toward the camera. A sign on top of the car reads, in part:" WIN THIS CAR... Enter the 10,000 Meter Diet Pepsi Sweepstakes." The sign also notes that the contest is sponsored by KITI, KMAS (both local radio stations) and Shakey's Pizza. There is a brick building in the background. A sign on the building reads "KMAS 1280." All of these images 22b through 24b are effectively identical.
