Seattle Supersonics at Capital Pavilion, Unknown Dates. These ten black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, the strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show what appears to be an inter-squad practice game played by the Seattle Supersonics in the Capital (Marcus) Pavilion on the Saint Martin's campus. The then-mascot of the team, the Wheedle, is also in some of the images. Images 40a through 42a show the Wheedle running around the basketball court and meeting children. Image 43a shows the crowd in the stands. The stands appear very full. Image 44a shows the Wheedle walking across the court. Images 1a through 13a show the practice game underway.
The images in group "b" show what appears to be the same practice game seen in group "a." All of the images show the practice game underway.
The images in group "c" show what appears to be a different practice game underway. Here the stands appear to be empty.Made/Created
