North Thurston Football Game, 1979. These five black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which it originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a high school football game between the team from North Thurston High School and an unknown team. It appears that the weather was very rainy during the game due to the water droplets on the camera's lens. Images 28a through 44a show the game in progress. Image 1a shows a ceremony of some kind, with two people at the center of a circle of other people. This images may be related to North Thurston's 1979 homecoming court.
Images in group "b" appear to show the same game seen in group "a." Image 29b shows a young man and young woman standing in/on a small tower. There is a striped tent visible behind them. Images 30b through 40b show the game in progress.
Printed along one long edge of each of these strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
