Description

Saint Martin's vs. Lewis-Clark State College, Men's Basketball, 1981. These nine black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a men's basketball game between the teams from Saint Martin's College and Lewis-Clark State College (not to be confused to Lewis and Clark College). The game took place in the Capital Pavilion on the Saint Martin's campus. Images 12a through 16a show the game underway. Images 17a and 18a show a banner hanging in the pavilion which reads "SMC SAINTS NAIA DIST 1 CHAMPS." Images 19a through 33a show the game underway. The images in group "b" show the same game as seen in group "a." Images 6b through 23b show the game underway. Image 24b shows the scoreboard displaying 68 points for Saint Martin's's and 50 point for Lewis-Clark. This was the final score of the game.
