Description

Unidentified nurses, probably a class at St. Peter's School of Nursing, c. 1920s. 5.5" x 8" black and white silver gelatin warm-toned print features eight women standing in a row. All are wearing white nursing uniforms consisting of ankle-length skirts, long sleeved shirts (some are pinstriped), aprons and white nurse's caps. They are standing on the front lawn of a wood-frame structure. The woman at the far right has her hand on a tree. The 5th and 6th women from the left have their arms around each other. Embossed into the lower right corner is "Pautzke, Ellensburg, Wash." The back of the photo has adhesive residue and the remnants of paper with text, most of which is unreadable, but in part reads: "...g a special selection of...domestic makers." These are the same nurses that are pictured in 2019-003-0003.
