2019-003-0003Description
Unidentified nurses, probably a class at St. Peter's School of Nursing, c. 1920s. 5.5" x 8" black and white silver gelatin warm-toned print features eight women. All are wearing white nursing uniforms consisting of ankle-length skirts, long sleeved shirts (some are pinstriped), aprons and white nurse's caps. In the front row from left to right is a woman in a rocking chair, and three women seated on what is probably a bench. In the second row, the woman at the far left is leaning against a tree and has her hand on the back of a rocking chair. Three women stand behind and a large wood-framed building is behind them. Embossed into the lower right corner is "Pautzke, Ellensburg, Wash."
The back of the photo has a handwritten inscription in pencil: "Forgive me. Please Forgive me. I didn't mean to make you cry. I Love you And I need you. Do anything, but don't say good-bye - Let by-gones just [be] by-gones. We all make mistakes now & then. I'm sorry, forgive [me] my dearl And lets be sweehearts again. There is also adhesive residue and the remnants of paper with text which is unreadable.
These are the same nurses that are pictured in 2019-003-0002 and appears to be taken on the same day.Made/Created
