These 4 photo contact strips show several aspects of the 1980 Thurston County Fair. Most of the photos seem as if they show people preparing for the fair rather than showcasing specific events at the fair. Some negatives are very light, possibly from overexposed film, all of the prints are on the light side (faded or underexposed). Otherwise they are in ok physical condition. Frame 18a a partially constructed building is in the middle of the frame with conifers in the background. Frame 19a 4 figures in the center frame are all busy laying timbers for the floor of a building. Frame 20a two men center frame are seen working on an unfinished window frame. Frame 21a a man with a plaid shirt and aviator glasses is standing in a field and holding a microphone. Frame 22a the same man is observing a panel of instruments and knobs, with his left hand raised. Frame 23a similar to the last image but the man is now holding his hand in front of him. Frame 24a almost identical to the previous image but with a slightly different arm position. Frame 25a a partially finished building is center frame with a larger open air building behind it. Frame 26a a woman in a floral print dress is bent over a piece of paper that she is writing on. Frame 27a two women are in an office looking at a piece of paper. Frame 28a two men hold shovels in front of a wheelbarrow. They are working inside of a barn. Frames 29a-30a two identical negatives of the two men from the previous frame but one of them is dumping the wheelbarrow by its handles and one of them is emptying it with a shovel. Frame 31a a flyer that reads "Thurston County Fair, It's a family affair, July 31st through August 3rd" The flyer has a drawing of a family wearing fair ribbons, the daughter is holding a pumpkin and the son is holding a chicken. Frame 32a a sign for the Thurston County Fair reading the same text as the previous slide, showing that it is "Lacey, WA".Lexicon
