These 8 B&W photo contact strips were created for the Lacey Leader Newspaper. Showcased in this sleeve is the construction of a new Lacey Leader office building. The building is in several phases of construction in these photos, from construction such as carpentry of walls and doorways, to the finished office. The office looks more like a residential home than a conventional office. There are also 2 portraits of an unknown man in this envelope. Frame 44a, an unfinished room with unpainted drywall. On the left side of the room are 2 ladders and some boxes pushed up to the side of the wall, on the right side is scaffolding and a person walking on the very right of the frame. Frame 1a, an unfinished interior of the lacey leader office building. On the right of the frame stands a worker with shaggy hair and a beard, wearing an insulated vest and t-shirt. There is a table saw in front of him and a saw horse to the left of him. On the left of the frame is scaffolding. Frame 2a, the same unfinished room from the last frame but shot from the other side of the room. There are pressurized gas tanks, an industrial heater, and a small table saw on the left side of the room. In the foreground is a saw horse and to its right is scaffolding. 3 small windows are on the walls. Frame 3a, an unfinished wall with a window center-frame. The window is covered with newspapers. Frame 4a an unfinished room. The near foreground is the wooden frame of a doorway which frames the rest of the room. The right edge of the floor is littered with boxes and an overturned ladder. The left foreground features a ladder and behind it stands scaffolding. Frame 5a, an unfinished room with a doorway center frame. Frame 6a, appears to be a double exposure. The more prominently exposed shot in the frame features three construction workers. On the right are two plasterers at work, one using a long pole to smooth out the plaster high up on the wall. On the left of the frame stands the man wearing the vest, from frame 44a, his face is obscured by scaffolding that is standing in front of him. Frame 6b, an outdoor shot of the unfinished office's exterior. The building has shingle siding and the roof is not finished. Clear plastic sheeting is laid over the roof of the building to keep the interior dry. Scattered pieces of dimensional lumber are laying on the grass in the foreground. Frame 7b, a different angle of the office building in frame 6b. The entry doorway can be seen but the door appears to not have been hung yet. The left background of the frame reveals part of the neighboring building which has 2 stories, a 2nd story balcony, a chimney and an aerial antenna. Frame 8b, an interior shot of the entry room of the office building. The drywall has not been installed and the floor appears to be the concrete foundation. The front door leans against the wall next to the doorway. One of the door's small window panes has a piece of wood covering it. A wheelbarrow (right) and a folding ladder (left) are sitting in the room. Frame 9b, a shot of another entrance to the building. The door is in the frame and the electrical wiring can be seen woven through the carpentry of the walls. Linoleum on the floor has many spots where it has been cracked and removed. Frame 10b, the entry room of the building now has the entry door hung. A wheelbarrow full of demolished materials is next to the door on the left of the frame. Frame 11b, a portrait oriented photo of a side room of the unfinished office. A piece of lumber is set diagonally against the floor and wall to brace the wall. An extension cord is seen trailing from the right foreground of frame to the far right background of the frame. Frame 12b, the interior of the unfinished building. A beam is projecting from the outside of the building, through a window on the right-facing wall of the room. On the right of the frame a toilet can be seen through a door frame, next to a ladder. Frame 13b and 14b, an outdoor shot of the side of the building. A shirtless man with shaggy hair and a beard is using a jack to lift a portion of the house. He is holding the jack with his right hand. Frame 15b, in a very similar shot to the last 2 frames the same man is using a measuring tape to measure the distance between the bottom of the house and the ground. Frame 16b, shot from the same angle as the last frame the same man is leaning back on his knees and pointing under the house with his right hand, a shovel's handle is resting in his lap. A truck can be seen now, behind the house. Frame 17b, from the same distance and angle as the last frame, the same man is now digging underneath the house while kneeling. Frame 17c, a long-shot of what appears to be the finished office building. Trees can be seen in the background and the property's lawn is clean and free of debris. Frame 18c, a shot of the rear of the building. 2 fruit trees frame the building. The 2 story neighboring house can be seen in the background on the right. A car is parked on the left side of the building. Frame 19c, a shot of the side of the finished building, three people can be seen in the right of the frame in the background, next to the building. A fire ladder can be seen from the topmost window and an antenna protrudes from the apex of the roof. Frame 20c, a shot of the front of the finished building. 3 stairs lead to the front door of the building. A neighboring building can be seen in the right portion of the background, as well as a wooden electrical power poll. Frame 21c, an indoor shot of a finished room in the building. The floors are hardwood and there are 4 wall shelves installed in the room. A window is opposite the camera and another window on the right facing wall. Frame 22c, an indoor shot of the finished back room of the building. There are bottles of what look like cleaning products on the ground. The far wall features the rear door of the building and to its right is a circuit breaker. The left of the frame shows the furnace for the building. A window is in the left facing wall of the photo. Frame 23c, a photo of one of the rooms in the house. The small simple room has a window with drawn curtains in the left of the frame. A light fixture is visible on the ceiling on right part of the frame. Frame 24c, a simple room with a window on the opposite wall, a ceiling light is above the window. The curtains in front of the window are closed. Frame 25c, shown is the kitchen of the building, the sink, cabinets, and counters are on the left side of the frame. There is a window on the opposite wall. Frame 26c, a straight on shot of the cabinets, counter, sink and window of the kitchen for the building. Frame 27c, an indoor shot of a room in the building, the doorways of two rooms can be seen from this perspective. A man and a shorter figure are standing on the right of the frame. Most of the shorter figure is obscured by the man standing in front of him. A fixture for a wood fired stove is on the right wall of the frame. Frame 28a, two doorways can be seen in this photo, showing part of three rooms. The side of the man from the previous frame can be seen. He is standing in the middle room and appears to be holding a child. The far room appears to be the bathroom. Frame 29c this appears to be a double exposure, or a photo taken through a window (showing the reflection of the photographer). The photo is of a breakfast nook with a checkered floor and the reflection is of an outdoor area, owing to the trees at the top of the photo. The photo is a portrait orientation. Frame 30c, identical to frame 29c but in a landscape orientation. Frame 31c, a long shot of the rear of the building. The building stands between 2 apartment buildings. There is a large meadow behind the building. Frame 32c, the front of the building and the front lawn are inn this shot. There is a small RV trailer in the yard of the building on the left of the frame. Frame 33c, a similar shot to frame 32c but shot further to the left of the front yard. The trailer is not visible now because it was moved or obscured by a tree on the left of the frame. Frame 34c, a longshot of the finished building. You can see a sign for a business called "The Hitch Shop" on the right of the frame. The camping trailer from frame 32 is visible next to the sign. There is a road taking up much of the foreground. Frame 26b two man are pouring concrete beneath the base of the building. The man furthest from the camera is standing and holding the handles of the wheelbarrow and the closer man is holding a tool to direct the path of the concrete under the house, he is kneeling. Frame 27b is very similar to frame 26b but the kneeling man is now troweling concrete out of the wheelbarrow. Frame 28b and 29b, are nearly identical photos of the same man kneeling and bent over, troweling concrete around the base of the building (man right, building left). A man in profile (left) is standing and holding a wheelbarrow upright and emptying its contents. A man to his left can be seen kneeling behind the wheelbarrow. A meter can be seen in the foreground and the outside of the building on the left of the frame. Frame 31b, the two men pouring concrete are in this photo. The man holding the wheelbarrow is on the left, legs splayed out and pouring concrete in front of him. The man to his right is kneeling and facing the outer wall of the building.
