27 photos (six negative strips) of the October 9, 1980 ceremony dedicating the Mother Joseph statue for the state capitol (a copy of the one displayed in the National Capital). This ceremony took place on the state capitol steps and featured Governor Dixy Lee Ray (among others) as a speaker. The featured displays for the ceremony also included the state capitol copy of the 1953 Marcus Whitman statue that the Mother Joseph statue would be joining (as part of two statues allowed to each state) in the National Capital.
Seven photos (2 negative strips) of a 50-ish man making electric/electronic repairs (using Duco Cement and tools) in a repair shop at roughly 1:30 PM (clock time); one call also see "job" clipboards on the wall behind him.
Four photos (one strip) of four high school/college young women posed in front of a theater (?) curtain; in the last two of these photos they are joined by a male actor/teacher.
Two photos (one strip) of what appears to be a high school "court" (a queen/king pair plus four male/female couples "below" them) in good casual clothes in front of an island themed set of decorations. The clock on the wall reads 8:50 (not clear if AM or PM).Context
The Dixy Lee Ray/statues photos is important because the state had been recently (in the 70s) been given permission to display a second statue related to the state's history in the National Capital. The Marcus Whitman statue (replaced more recently) and Mother Joseph statue were chosen for this honor.Made/Created
