Titled "Our Islands and Their People Volume II", this dark green hard-cover book offers photographic and descriptive representations of the people and the islands which had lately been acquired from Spain by the United States, this volume concerns Hawaii and the Philippines. It discusses material resources and productions, homes of the people, their customs and general appearance,illustrated with more than twelve hundred photographs, colortypes, and colored maps of views of landscapes, rivers, valleys, hills and mountains.
Handwritten inscription in black ink on the page after the title page "To Miss Mabel Schusler. Wheaton Illinois." In smaller writing is another inscription that is indiscernable.
Dark green hard-back cover. The title "Our Islands and Their People", in addition to a palm branch and another type of flora impressed in golden letters half way down and off center to the left. Around the edge of the front cover are three consecutive depressed lines that run the entire perimeter of the cover. On the spine impressed in dark gold lettering is the title "Our Islands and Their People Volume II". The back cover is blank. Measures 16" x 11.5" x 1.5"
