This is an English version of the most popular Swiss novel worldwide, "Heidi" written by Johanna Spyri. While this title has been published many times this one was produced and copyrighted by Harper and Brothers in 1925. This version is 333 pages long with several illustrations by Louis Rhead.
Inside the front cover in black ink is a stamp "Lacey Elementary School Library North Thurston School Dist. #3 Lacey, Washington" although "Lacey" is not fully stamped. On top of this is another stamp "Discard" also in black ink.
On the title page in the top right corner in pencil is written a cursive "SB" above "C.2". Along the spine crease in pencil is written "23-66 Rebound 2.00 C.2" then just next to this is stick (possibly glued) a white strip of paper with "8663" printed in black ink.
On the back of page 333, in the center bottom is the number "1029-1126-675" stamped in black ink, and immediately following that in pencil is written "'83".
On the page opposite the back cover is a due date slip stuck to page (most likely glued). Three of the four columns have dates stamped on them in various colors of ink. The due dates range from Dec 18 '69 to Mar 1'88.
On the inside of the back cover the due date slip sleeve is stuck in the center (most likely glued). On top of the sleeve in pencil is written "Crayon 12-10-09K.". On the front of the sleeve on the left side in black ink is stamped, "23-66" and blow that "Spyri Heidi", opposite that on the right side is stamped "F" above "SP" also stamped in black ink. Above the sleeve in black ink is stamped "Lacey Elementary School Library. North Thurston School Dist. #3 Lacey, Washington" although "Lacey Elementary Sch" is not visibly stamped. Below the sleeve in the bottom right corner in green ink is stamped "MAR 15 '78" twice, both times at an angle.
9" x 6" x 1.75". Hard cover. The front and back covers are decorated with a diagonal plaid pattern in the colors green, blue, and yellow. The spine is a light mint-green color. Near the top of the spine is the title "Heidi" impressed in black ink. Below the title is a decoration impressed in black ink of a square with oblong diamond to the right and left of it. Below that also impressed in black ink is "Spyri". Near the bottom of the spine written in black ink is "F" over "Sp".Lexicon
