Description

An instructional book for spelling, pronunciation, and application of words. 127 pages consisting of 60 lessons divided among 12 chapters. On the page opposite the front cover is written in pencil, "Olive Fleetwood Lacey, Wash." an in the bottom left corner of the same page also written in pencil is, "P.L.S." On the back of the last page are hand written spelling rules in pencil: "I before e, except after c, or when sounded as a as in neighbor, or weight. In adding a suffix beginning with a vowel to a word ending with a single consonant preceded by a single vowel double the final consonant. In adding a suffix beginning with a vowel to a word ending in e preceded by a single consonant drop the final e unless preceded by e or g." 7" x 5.25" x 0.5" Dark green hardbound book. The front cover has the title in a downward facing triangle with the publishers mark at the triangles point, impressed in black. The spine has "Words" in the middle of black lines, impressed. The back cover is devoid of decoration.
