Twenty-four strips containing 100 photos--98 of which show individuals.
One set (frames #9-22) is fourteen separate portraits of 4 elementary age students (probably two girls and two boys).
Another set (frames #30-44 and #1-5) is 20 pictures, each featuring one of 9 students (who appear to be middle school or late elementary age). The photostrips for this set have the date 5-5-74.
A third set (frames #31-40) primarily focuses on two individual men; the older of the two (frames #31-34) is in a sweater vest and tie while the younger (frames #35-39) is in a sport coat and tie and shown outside with a house or commercial strip respectively in the backdrop. The commercial signs that can be read include: Greg's Fireplace Shop, Patrick's Decorating Center ("Grand opening January 3"), and Massoth Auto Parts. The photostrips for this set are dated 1-5-77 and say that the two men are Pat Martin (probably Frames #35-39) and Wendall (Wendell?) Gregory (Frames 31-34). Frame #40 is identified as the Marvin Rd dump.
A fourth set of photos (frames #19-23) (dated 9-24-75) shows a man in his late 20s-early 30s in a sweater (#19-22) and a different man in a sportscoat and turtleneck in frame #23.
A fifth set of photos (dated 10-15-75) shows respectively: A) a man in his 50s-60s in a coat and tie and flag pin (frames #25-26); B) another man, wearing glasses, of similar age in a light colored coat with a striped tie and flag pin (frames #17-18); and C) a third man wearing glasses in a dark coat and tie--with a United Way pin and flag pin on his lapel (frames #43-44,1-2). Frame #42 in this photoset shows a cluttered desk or table top.
A sixth set of photos (dated 10-9-74) shows: A) a young man (20s to early 30s) in a lightly plaid coat with a tie (frames #36-38); and B) a somewhat older and balding man, wearing glasses, in a sports jacket and modified turtleneck (frames #40-42).
A seventh set of photos (dated 2-18-77) shows: A) a man in his 30s-40s in a dark coat and tie (based on the marking on the photostrip, possibly Tom Wilson) (frames #1-4); B) a man of similar age, wearing glasses and dark coat and tie, posed in front of what could be a law library or college library set of bookshelves--who is probably Ken Ahlf (frames #15-18); C) a picture taken near the intersection of Lacey Blvd and College, showing "Lacey Village" and Kentucky Fried Chicken (frame #19); and D) a younger man named "Mike", wearing a Dairy Queen badge, in a parking lot pointing to some housing in the background (frame #5).
An eighth set of photos (dated 2-25-77) showing: A) four pictures of an older man (60+) wearing glasses and dressed in a casual jacket with a collared shirt, followed by a picture of some pictures on the wall (frames #15-19). The photostrip provides three possible names for him--Dan Manley, Luke Lucchesi or John L. Ko; and B) two pictures of a mustachioed man in his 20s-30s dressed in a similar coat to the man in #A but with a more casual shirt--who is also potentially Dan Manley, Luke Lucchesi or John L. Ko (frames #28-29) followed by two pictures of a woman identified as Kay Boyd (frames #26-27) and one photo (frame #25) which shows two Boy Scouts from the Tumwater Council posed in front of a store window containing a camping equipment display that has a Display Award sign on it;
A final set of unidentified photos showing: A) a woman in her 50s-60s dressed in a coat and dressy blouse with two buttons on her lapel--one of which appears to say "Lacey 1980" or "Lacey Days" (Frames #32-36); B) a man in his 30's in a coat and tie (frames #29-31); C) a man in his 30s-40s in a more tweedy jacket (and tie) with a wall behind him that is paneled about halfway up the wall (frames #6-7); and D) a set of four photos showing a balding man in his 50s-60s (wearing glasses) and dressed in a tee (and denim jacket) apparently posed in front of shuttered window.Context
Wendall Gregory was a Lacey City Council member in 1969. Pat Martin owned Pat's Carpet One in Lacey (earlier called Pat's Decorating Center) and was an early Rotary member. Ken Ahlf was the Lacey City Attorney for 43 years from 1970-2013. Kay Boyd joined the Lacey City Council in 1981 and became Mayor of Lacey in 1986.Made/Created
