Description

Two pictures, taken in the 1920s-1930s (based on the age/style of the cars in the background). One shows six men, in bathing suits, in the foreground and one more man in a bathing suit in the background sitting partway up what appears to be a diving platform. The second photo shows a similarly constructed sitting/diving platform with at least three levels (and people sitting on the first two levels looking out over the lake/pond); in the lower right foreground is a woman in a bathing suit standing on a platform holding a hose; in the background is a group of about 40 people on the far shore of the pond/lake along with the two cars mentioned earlier and another diving platform (from which two divers are in mid-air--having recently dived).

Context

In the 1920s and 1930s Lacey's lakes were a great attraction for people in the south Puget Sound to come swimming and picnicking in the summer.
